3. The third option, and this one I highly recommend, is a flat rate fee. It covers everything in option one and two PLUS writing coach services. With this option, I work one on one with the author, I hold writing sessions with him or her, and I spend excessive time helping the writer develop his/ her craft. This, I believe, is my best option because it won't matter how long the book is. The flat fee covers it all. For example, Author Paulette Harper Johnson is working on her first fiction book. She and I meet once a month or as often as she can to collaborate on her project. I coach her in setting deadlines for the project, and we exchange emails regularly for me to do the editing services. You can ask her about this option. It works really well. This fee is $5.25 per page for an incomplete manuscript. But it covers everything the writer needs. This would be the price per project.
